I threw my vest and PPE on, grabbed my morning energy drink—whatever that might be—and walked up to the job site on North Temple. The sunrise was beautiful; not too hot yet, just perfect. I got to the traffic light, watching the few seconds countdown before I got the right-of-way to cross. The red hand signal switched to a walking person. As I crossed, I saw Ray, a homeless man sitting on the sidewalk, he hung out around the site for the six years almost seven I’ve been there. Ray always has a positive attitude, no matter what situation he might be in. He never says he's having a bad day and always seems grateful. He said good morning, and I said it right back. Ten feet ahead of me was the turnstile, and to the right was the gate leading to the Tabernacle plaza. A few young ladies were coming out of the job site, so I decided to pause and wait in front of the gate. At that exact moment, it hit me how blessed I was to be where I was and in the situation I was in. It set a positive tone for the entire rest of my day.

After one snowstorm on Powder Mountain, our footings were buried under 7 feet of snow. Kyler Welch, shown here, is working to locate the end of the snow tarps.

We received well over a foot of snow on site, with high winds for a couple of days. It was quite the storm!

Fall is the best time to visit Disney. Things are cooling off and visitors have thinned out. What better time to hold a Jacobsen summer party?
